Great Pilsner
A few years ago I had a chance to tour the brewery in Pilzen, Czech Republic where they make Pilsner Urquell. Since then we have bought it here occasionally but it is not always fresh. Now I know how to get fresh flavorful beer- brew it yourself! Mr. Beer makes it easy. The Grand Bohemian Czech Pilsner refill was our second Mr. Beer kit and we are impressed with how well it turned out. I brewed it in early August, let it ferment for two weeks and warm-conditioned for about two weeks. Once it got to the fridge we had to sample it after only a few days. Today we are down to the last bottle and it keeps getting better. It has a distinct hoppy flavor and nice aroma. I liked it so much that I ordered more kits of different kinds and today I made batch #6. Until I can get back to Pilzen, my Mr. Beer kit will be the next best thing!
I love Mr. Beer and I love this Czech pilser
Mr. Beer is an easy and enjoyable way to get a taste of home brewing and really good beer. I have tried a handful of flavors now and while all have been very tasty, this is near the top of my list. If you enjoy a Czech pilsner, then buy this with confidence and a smile!
Good beer
Brewing with Mr. Beer is as easy as it gets and, as usual, with their premium refills, the product is excellent. I like to add some pilsen DME to boost the alcohol content, but this product, as it comes produces an excellent, if low ABV brew. There is typical clean Pilsner taste with noticeable, but not overpowering, hop bitterness. For friends who only drink pale, flavorless macrobrews, this is an excellent indoctrination into trying home brew.
Add some Hopps
I have been experimenting with Mr Beer Premium brews for some time now. This has been my best so far. I added some home grown hopps to the batch along with a cup of maple syrup (to bump up the alcohol content). I allowed three weeks before I bottled it. It remained at room temperature (67-68 degrees) for almost two months before I refrigerated it for another month. If you like a hoppy beer, you may want to try this.
Best beer I ever made or bought
This all malt beer was wonderful!!! Just the right amount of hops, body and smoothness. It’s hard to find a brew this balanced. I can’t stand a beer that too hoppie or too much body. Most of the beers I’ve made have too much yeast after taste, not this one. Now the problem, they are out of it.
Great beer and easy to brew
This is the second beer I brewed with my Mr. Beer kit. I found this one to be of great quality. It was the first premium kit that I used and you can see the hops floating in the wort. This beer is cloudy when you bottle it but it settles as the beer carbonates. This does make pouring the beer tricky without getting any of the settlement from the bottom of the bottle. I am using the 1 liter plastic Mr. Beer bottles. This beer tastes great, like a true pilsner. I will certainly brew this one again.
