Customer Reviews

Just what we were looking for!

I actually bought these glasses because of the previous negative review…it’s impossible to find a thin glass! My husband is Brazilian and loves a good cold beer. This is a great German made glass and compliments a quality beer. Also, the negative review was much exaggerated…they’re not as fragile as the comment led on.

A bit expensive, but awesome!

I’m a homebrewer and use this glass for my Hefs. I have poured and drank my own beer in various glasses. Spiegelau is top quality thus far. The glass itself is thin and flawless, which displays the magnificent beer color the way it should be.

I feel the price is a bit steep, which is the reason why I give 4 Stars. Maybe, thin glasses are more difficult to manufacture, but still, $10+ per glass makes me extra careful, and hence, needs too much of my attention when drunk or when I share with my friends who probably have no clue that each glass is $10+.

Great Glasses

I had to write a review, my first, due to the silly comments about the thickness of the glass from others. A glass is not going to get more expensive as it gets thicker. These are elegant glasses with a fantastic feel and yes they are thin and somewhat fragile. I make my own beer and these glasses are the perfect size to fit an entire 22 oz bottle with room to spare.

Traditional German Weiss bier glass, could stand some improvement.

Just like you can drink champagne from a paper cup, but it is best served in the correct flute, this glass is intended for a German Wheat beer. As such, it is the correct shape and size. The size is the standard German 500 milliliter. However, most of the imported German Weiss beer you’ll find at your party store has been “Americanized” to the 12 oz size, which is about 330 milliliters. This is why several reviews write that it is “to big” or can hold 1.5 beers. You can find German Weiss beer imported in the standard 500ml size if you shop around.

I also find the glass to thin, otherwise I would have rated this a 5 star product. I have drank Weiss beer all over Bavaria, in dozens/hundreds of hotels/restaurants when on business, and was never served a Weiss beer in a glass this thin. Now this doesn’t affect the quality of the head in any way, shape or form, but it does concern me that they will break easily. For now I’m hand washing it and hoping for the best.

These are quality glasses and a great gift for people of legal drinking age, especially as a wedding gift for ages 30 and above! They love them and they are packaged so beautifully for safe keeping. Now I need to buy myself some!

I do not own this product, but this style of glass is specifically made for enjoying wheat beers with big head. They’re supposed to be thin!
